A revitalized Medvedev won his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is his maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 different competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on court had led some to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five games to go ahead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet defended four early-game chances in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
