I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
